The weak economy is impacting Champagne sales — shipments to the U.S. declined 17% through July, reports AdAge. And with the holiday season accounting for 25% of sales, the Champagne industry is going to get aggressive with its competitors:

The Champagne industry is planning an ad campaign for the fourth quarter that emphasizes the uniqueness of individual wine regions while mocking impostors such as "American Champagne."
