The third annual Eat Drink Design, a "food design project," part of the Dutch Design Week 2008 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, ran from October 18th - 26th, 2008. The project brought together seven Dutch chefs from restaurants in Eindhoven with seven Dutch designers to create "thought-provoking" snacks. Design.nl tells us that "the snacks were available for 5 euros from a 'Febo' style croquette vending machine located just behind the Design Academy Eindhoven and could also be eaten at the seven featured restaurants for the week."

The Peanutbutterjellydonutholesonjackswithcottoncandy, above, by Maarten Baptist and Chris Fraass, brought together American and Dutch influences, combining peanut butter, jelly donuts, on a three-pronged eating apparatus, topped with cotton candy. Sounds awesome. Here's the recipe.

Bite3 by Lonneke Gordijn, Ralph Nauta and Yuri Wiesen incorporated nine different flavors, arranged as a "tasty mosaic." The cubes were made of oysters, passion fruit, wasabi, raw sirloin filet, truffle salsa, arugula pesto, soy jelly, tuna tataki, and wakame. Here's the recipe. "The sequence in which they are eaten determines the culinary experience."
