The other night, during American Idol, Domino's Pizza debuted its newest commercial, where chief executive David Brandon burns a cease-and-desist letter from Subway. The letter demanded that Domino's Pizza drop its claim that its new "Oven Baked Subs" beat Subway's baked sandwiches in a national taste test, reports the Nation's Restaurant News.
Says the CEO in the commercial:
Domino's Oven Baked Sandwiches beat the taste of Subway's two to one — then Subway's lawyers sent us this letter demanding we pull our commercials off the air. I was gonna burn the letter, but everything's better when it's oven-baked.
