The Double Bypass Burger at The Vortex Bar & Grill on Man v Food [video]

We finally gave the Travel Channel's Man v Food a chance — we were under the assumption that it was mainly some sort of manly gross-out competitive eating show, but we were totally wrong. If anything, it's more like Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, except without the preening and posturing of Guy Fieri, and Adam Richman, the show's host, is genuinely funny and charming. The setup: Richman goes to a city or region, visits a couple of well-known restaurants to sample the goods, and for the final segment, takes on a local food challenge, such as eating a 13-pound pizza.

In a recent episode, Richman visits the The Vortex Bar & Grill in Atlanta to try the different burgers they make, including the Elvis burger (peanut butter, bacon, and fried bananas), the Spanish Fly burger (ground chorizo topping, green chilis, and pepperjack cheese), and the Double Bypass burger, made with three fried eggs, four slices of American cheese, and five slices of bacon, with two grilled cheese sandwiches replacing the buns.
