Not exactly a deal, since (we presume) the contract was struck simultaneously with the one for Bouchon or Under Pressure, but the buzz has finally hit for Thomas Keller's latest, Ad Hoc at Home (pre-order on Amazon). The book is based on the kitchen of Keller's more family-friendly comfort-food restaurant, perhaps best known for its fried chicken.

In the book, "Keller showcases dishes that can be made every day (and not just for special occasions). Invaluable lessons, secrets, tips and tricks — as well as charming personal anecdotes — accompany recipes for such classics as the best fried chicken, beef Stroganoff, roasted spring leg of lamb, hamburger, the crispiest fried fish, chicken soup with dumplings, potato hash with bacon and melted onions, and superlative grilled cheese sandwiches, apple fritters, buttermilk biscuits, relishes and pickles, cherry pie — 200 recipes in all." Like his other books, Ad Hoc at Home is being published by Artisan. It's due out in fall of this year.
