Book Alert: The Obama Menu: Dining with Barack Obama
A press release informed us of the newly-released book The Obama Menu: Dining with Barack Obama published by TasteTV (buy at Amazon). Looking like some sort of epic cut-and-paste blog post, the book compiles menus, photos, quotes, and recipes for dishes that Obama might have eaten:
The campaign's famous fundraising and "person-to-person" dinners took place in people's homes, in restaurants, and in hotels, and ranged from the humble to the extravagant. The Obama Menu includes not only menus and recipes from these events, but also the stories, first-hand accounts, photographs, speeches and quotes... Featuring recipes ranging from the Kahala Resort in Hawaii to the Biltmore Hotel in Florida, from the kind of pie that Obama loves to the Obama Family Chili.
Who wouldn't want the recipe for "the kind of pie that Obama loves"?
But then they had to drop this line: "Spoiler alert: Multiple appearances by food guru Alice Waters and the journey to the utlimate organic White House vegetable garden!" Don't even get us started.
Update: We got our hands on the book and reviewed it.
