Coca-Cola to the Rescue!

And now for some good news: Coca-Cola has teamed with an organization called ColaLife to distribute medicine and "health messages" throughout rural Africa, reports The Guardian. While working in Katine, Zambia, ColaLife's founder Simon Berry noticed that although even the most remote villages in Africa had commercial soft drinks readily available, medicine was scarce.

Lack of available medicine for easily-preventable illnesses accounts for 75% of premature deaths in Africa, and through air-tight, insect-proof "AidPods" which fit around the necks of the soda bottles already being shipped, ColaLife will distribute rehydration salts, malaria tablets, and other simple medicines that could make a huge impact on people's lives. Coca-Cola to the rescue!
