Racy Religious Gelato Ads

While researching the gelato maker Antonio Federici (who orchestrated that PR stunt with an Italian tenor serenading some cows), we came across these racy print ads depicting a naughty nun and priest in flagrante delicto, with taglines reading "Submit to Temptation" and "Kiss Temptation."

We checked, and sure enough, the ads, released earlier this month, have generated controversy — according to the Guardian, the ads are under investigation by the UK's Advertising Standards Authority, and are likely to be banned. Even the food magazine Delicious refused to run them. Apparently, "linking sex or [sexualized] images with religion may cause particular offense." You think?
