Gordon Ramsay Comes Clean

In an interview with the Times in the UK, Gordon Ramsay reveals how close his restaurant empire came to crumbling. After selling his Ferrari, closing down the Paris, Los Angeles, and Prague locations, laying off a quarter of the staff at the London head office, and sinking £5m into the company, he expect accountants to give his company a clean bill of health:

Ramsay concedes that his ego got the better of him and the company expanded too far, too fast, opening 10 restaurants in 10 months last year, many of them overseas: "Tenacity and ambition overtook me. We thought we could do anything, that we could not fail... It’s been very, very hard... At times it felt like a witch hunt. I’ve put my hands over my face and taken the blows.”
