Paula Deen on Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List [video]
Last night on Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List, Kathy Griffin and friends paid a visit to Paula Deen's house in Savannah for an overnight stay, and it was a triumph of low-grade celebrity crossover. After humoring Kathy and her friends attempting to cooking for her, Paula, ever the gracious host, makes dinner for a raucous dinner party, and the next day Paula puts them to work waiting tables at The Lady and Sons Restaurant.
The whole episode was so completely over the top — we'd love to post the entire thing, but you should just hunt down the whole show (via repeats, iTunes, torrent, etc). Here are only a few clips:
- Kathy Griffin smacking Paula Deen in the head with a stick;
- Kathy trying to seduce Bobby Deen so she'd become part of the Paula Deen empire: "I think if I'm seen with one of the Deen boys, then boom! I'm all over the Food Network"
- An encounter with a drag queen who calls herself "Paul A. Deen."
- But the breakout star was Brandon Branch, Paula's designer/assistant/self-described "bitch" (see Food Network Addict for more). Brandon was totally wasted during the dinner party, delivering funny line after funny line. SOMEONE GIVE THIS GUY HIS OWN SHOW. I KNOW YOU TV PEOPLE READ THIS BLOG. How is it possible he's only got 40 or so followers on Twitter?
