Scottish Brew Masters Stick It to the Man

From the "Oh, Snap" Department: the Scottish brewery BrewDog has created a 1.1% beer called "Nanny State" in response to an attempted ban on a controversial brew the company put out.
Earlier this year, British anti-alcohol groups protested the launch of Tokyo, and 18.2% ABV Imperial Stout flavored with jasmine and cranberries and billed as "the [...]

The Honeycomb Hideout Commercials for Honeycomb Cereal, 1974-2006 [videos]

Commercials from the 80s, especially commercials for children, tended to be a little insane. Take, for example, the Honeycomb Hideout commercials for Honeycomb cereal. Each commercial goes like this: a bunch of children (and in the later commercials, a cereal robot) are hanging out in a shack in the woods. All of a sudden, some [...]

Says Ariel, "Whoah, OK, we have some big ballers in here today." The final winner, selected by Editor-in-Chief Barbara Fairchild [...]

Fancy Fast Food on Nightline [video]

Nightline last night ran their segment featuring Erik Trinidad of Fancy Fast Food. With the assistance of Andrew Knowlton of Bon Appetit, they transformed a meal from Wendy's into a chicken mole that Knowlton calls "better than airplane food."
When asked if he ever wants to cheat, Trinidad responds, "Well, where's the integrity?"

Eric Ripert Hearts Processed Cheese

In the Newsweek piece about Eric Ripert's new television series Avec Eric, "Finally, a Highbrow Cooking Show," an important detail is revealed about Le Bernardin: the sous chefs use a kind of processed cheese to find a common reference point with their palates:
But he could talk forever about... how he gets the sauces at Le [...]
