Obamitas: Yes We Can Have Chocolate Cookies With the Likeness of Barack Obama

The public option might be dead, wars continues to be waged, and ten percent unemployment persists, but at least we can console ourselves with the thought of Obamitas, the artisanal chocolate cookies out of Spain that feature the likeness of President Barack Obama. And we take no joy in telling you this, but they're only available in Spain. If you're lucky enough to live there, Obamitas will set you back €8.90 for 150 grams, €12.90 for 250 grams.
What really impressed us is Neos Brand's great design for Obamitas, from the website to the packaging to the product photography. Also see the case study (pdf).
We're charmed by the Obamitas, but not everyone is: the caricatured, chocolate-colored cookie has lead to some concerns that it's a "racist gesture." Reps from Neos Brand assure that Obamitas have "nothing to do with his color" and are "inspired by the message of hope of President Obama. Our intention is to send a message cheerful, positive and generate a smile to those who take the obamitas."
